Application — Growth

Danilo Vicioso · danilojvicioso@gmail.com · danilovicioso.com · 1 Oct 2026

Fresh Chile already owns a 36,000+ member cooking group. The question is how much of that proof works for a cold buyer on the site.

Danilo Vicioso

Who I am

  • Former COO of Tabs. Built its creator program to 100M monthly social impressions, and the paid ad engine alongside it.
  • Founded Mainstreet, a consumer home-services platform: a team of 70, $25M raised (Greylock, Khosla, YC, Tim Ferriss). It failed.
  • Before that: Quintessential Ventures, an early seat at a high-growth startup, and entrepreneur-in-residence at Prehype.
  • I'm moving into growth specifically. The creative and top-of-funnel work is what I want to be doing every day.

What I noticed

  • The Fresh Hatch Green Chile – Sandia Select box is $29.99, struck from $34.99, and backed by a 90-Day Satisfaction Guarantee. That guarantee is the strongest line for a first-time buyer of fresh peppers.
  • The Fresh Chile Membership costs $199.00 and says it pays for itself in just three orders, with free shipping and 20% off every order. That is an offer worth building a landing page around.
  • The Fresh Chile Cookin’ Facebook group has 36,000+ members and fed 52 recipes into the Fresh Chile Hatch Chile Recipe Cookbook at $14.95. That is proof of use and creator material.

What I built

What I'd do here

  • My KPI: scale ad spend, hold target CAC. Everything else follows from that, whether the buyer starts with a $10.95 jar or a $29.99 box.
  • Week to week: launching a bunch of different experiments, losers killed early. One variable per test, first on the pepper boxes.
  • Creators for Fresh Chile: home cooks making posole, grill and BBQ people, Southwest-food fans. Each gets a hook library and one product.
  • Reporting so you never have to ask. Daily CAC. Weekly what we learned. Monthly cohort payback, split by Membership and one-time buyers.
  • Event tracking I'd spec and work through with your team, so Membership orders are tagged. That part isn't me.

Creators come on two a week, up to 10 live by week six. Each posts seven videos a week, so 70 videos a week at the full roster. New ads and landing pages follow the creators. Proposed.

Creator videos a week = creators live × videos per creator. Week 1: 0 × 7 = 0; Week 2: 2 × 7 = 14; Week 3: 4 × 7 = 28; Week 4: 6 × 7 = 42; Week 5: 8 × 7 = 56; Week 6: 10 × 7 = 70.

How I'd start

  • Pull the highest-reviewed products and build one landing page each, starting with the pepper boxes and the Membership offer.
  • Mine the Cookin’ Facebook group for recipes and real use cases, then turn them into a hook library for creators to film against.

I'd love to chat if this makes sense. Grab a time here.
